During Art Outdoors and Discover & Connect camps, young campers observe nature by exploring the Garden and then creating works of art with wet and dry media. Students will experience the tactile forms of nature and be encouraged to translate them on paper. In the afternoon, students will explore the possibilities of sculpture and fibers by engaging with a variety of materials and subjects. These camps will bring together sight and touch to illustrate how objects in the outside world can be duplicated.
Art In Motion and Imagine & Express camps invite kids to tell their stories through animation, photography and performance arts. These camps teach strategies of brainstorming along with structuring a narrative, illustration and Claymation techniques. By using a variety of techniques students will come to understand the ways in which the same story can be told in several mediums. Students may also come to develop an opinion on how different mediums can effect their perception of a story.
Out of the Box and Design & Construct camps introduce campers to a variety of printmaking and sculpture techniques using unusual materials! Students will explore recycled and green materials, such as leaves, twigs, fruit, and vegetables. Students will use these materials in their colorful prints, sculpture, and birdhouse architecture. By using these materials, students will learn how multi-functioning everyday objects can be.
